A hidden gem next to Sagrada Familia! This amazing place offers an enormous selection of seafood as if you’re at a market by the ocean. All this magnificence is cooked for you right away, and it’s incredibly delicious. It’s astonishing how peaceful and uncrowded it was even though Sagrada is just around the corner. A non-touristy, cozy spot where you can truly enjoy the atmosphere. A real super-duper place for seafood lovers
It's certainly an interesting place.I wasn't expecting what I found. I thought it was something like a buffet, and indeed it is, but you choose the fresh fish and they prepare it afterwards. It's a bit a stressful place because you feel a bit of pressure to choose, there's a long queue behind you and the lady is always asking "what else?", you don't have much time to think, so don't stand at the front of the queue but stand behind someone so you have time to observe and think about what you want. They have a great fish soup, and overall the food was simple and delicious
We had lunch here after visiting Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. The concept of a display with fresh fish and seafood, where you can just select what you want was perfect for us. The fish soup was great. We had a selection of fish, shrimps, oysters, and mussels. Some bread and wine and beer. The price was adequate. Personnel friendly and helpful. Thank you
We were here on 9 Dec 2024 and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The restaurant is just 3 minutes from Sagrada Familia and we came over after visiting the Cathedral. There were 4 groups of 2-4 pax in the queue but it moved fast. Took about 15min till our turn. The staff spoke good English and was friendly. Knowing we were tourists, she did not try to push us to order more or order the more expensive items as some outlets will do, for each seafood that we chose, she asked how for the portions required. We ordered 2 x Sole, 1 x Calamari, 1 x Monkfish soup, 1 x mussels in tomato sauce, 1 x anchovies, 2 x grilled shrimps, with drinks, the total bill came up to only 65 Euros which was very reasonable.More importantly, the quality of the food was good. Seafood was really fresh, as good as some of the more expensive restaurants we patronized here. One thing to note is this is a no frills restaurant, ambience is simple and casual. (You can see from the photographs. ) It is like a canteen or food court atmosphere. You pick your seafood, once it’s ready, your order number will be called and you have to collect your orders from the counter yourself. The cooking time did not take too long too, maximum of 20min and all our orders were ready. In summary, extreme good value for money, fresh seafood, good service and no frills dining. Definitely NOT tourist trap like we initially thought it might be. If you are visiting Sagrada Familia, can consider dining here.
When you think of seafood in Barcelona it’s exactly pictured like this place. Everything’s nice and fresh!! Some great street arts in the area too.
