Food was very poorly prepared with lack of attention to details in combination with a specific waiter service who forgot about us (5 persons) and basically had to wait for 40 min in between dishes just because he forgot to talk to the kitchen, also the restaurant wasn't as busy as usual. Overall the quality price doesn't come up to the expectations and we were better off going to another place.
What a marvelous slice of time honored, intimate, and feel good dining. Wonderful cuisine, gracious and accommodating staff, and atmosphere perfection. This was an immense treat, from the moment we approached the venue. Our online reservation preserved a generous table for 4 by the kitchen - easily the best seats in the house. Waiters spoke so many languages to accommodate travelers stopping in from across the world. Snails, paella, and chicken were all to die for. 15/10.
We were drawn in by their window display of roasting chickens, unaware that it was actually a fine restaurant. They didn't have room in their dining area, but we were very happy to eat at the bar. Since they are called Caracoles, we opted to try the snails and that alluring rotisserie chicken plus a side of the roasted vegetables. The snails were in a rich savory sauce and the portion was huge. Their fresh bread was pop perfect for enjoying the sauce. The vegetables came out on a sizzling hot plate and there was plenty for two. I was getting sated when the chicken arrived, but it was too good to not finish. It was served with crispy fried potatoes and roasted cherry tomatoes. We greatly enjoyed the house cava with the meal.Although we were pretty full, my husband could not resist the Caracoles Pyjamas for dessert. He loved it, and I may have loved it too if I wasn't so full!
The restaurant itself has a very enjoyable layout, when you enter it seems like a small bar, but you keep walking through corridors and rooms where everyone is having a great time! The decoration is very beautiful and it is a unique experience with incredible food! If you come here you must try their Caracoles (as the name suggests). Everything we had to eat was super tasty and the waiters were very friendly and fun to talk to. I highly suggest this place!
Most of all the chicken is so soft and tender. And So tasty! It is a must!!I love it!!!Would recommend anyone here for chicken.Sangria is also delicious compared to other restaurants I have been in Barcelona.Normally you’ll see a lot of crowds if you come here late and might have to wait lin line.
