Boasting a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Barcelona, the rooftop bar La Isabela at Hotel 1898 is the ideal spot for an afternoon escape or a serene evening gazing at the city’s twinkling night lights. Originally designed by a Catalan architect in 1881, the building later became the headquarters of the General Philippines Tobacco Company in 1929—the first major Spanish multinational. After a meticulous renovation, it reopened as Hotel 1898 in 2005, blending history with modern luxury. With perfect weather and an unbeatable view, we began our evening with a bottle of cava and an assortment of light snacks. This rooftop retreat is the perfect place to enjoy the warm sun and share quality time with good company. Who would have thought that simple treats like cheese, crackers, and fries could feel so comforting as you lounge in such a sophisticated setting?

Quiet place on top of a hotel in La Rambla. Perfect for one drink only. The views are nice. The food was very disappointing (see picture). The cheese platter had literally couple of pieces of cheese. The rice with prawns was tasteless as if the rice was boiled with water instead of fumet or stock. The burgers came cold and hard. The end up the dinner, we ordered a mango strawberry avocado mascarpone and specifically told the waiter several times (and during the whole ordering experience) about nut allergies: the dessert came with nuts (not mentioned in the description and asked to double check). Thanks god we didn’t have it and asked to change it. Overall the food can be improved and is overrated. The wine (Rueda) was good. The bill after this disappointing dinner was quite high. At least we got a shot for free. I doubt we’d be back anytime soon (or ever). Avoid if possible.

I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E. (We were not staying in the hotel, only came for dinner to the rooftop). We had a birthday surprise dinner planned there for a friend. Booking a table for 9 people went really smoothly, the lady on the phone was very nice, sorted everything out for us very fast. We arrived, had an amazing table prepared for us. We brought a cake that we made for our friend, the staff took it to put in the kitchen’s fridge. The cake was in the baking form, they unpacked everything by themselves, put candles in, brought it in the end AND… LISTEN TO THIS. They gave us a bottle of champagne as a birthday present. So kind of them. The service was great, every 15 minutes the staff checked in with us if everything is great, asked if we need/want anything else, food arrived quickly (and is great, especially their carpaccio), you really feel taken care of.The prices are VERY PLEASANT, especially for a rooftop bar in a hotel, in the centre of Barcelona. A bottle of an ACTUALLY GOOD WINE is only 20 to 22…Anyway, it was worth every penny, one of the best dinner experiences we had in Barcelona. Big applause to the staff. They were super kind and not just in front of the clients, I saw how they laugh and smile with each other, you really feel the vibe, they love what they do.The views are great, amazing for pictures, check it out yourself below.I recommend it to everyone who wants to have a nice intimate date, a good relaxing dinner and drinks with friends, a birthday dinner, any occasion basically.

A pleasant roof terrace above Hotel 1889. Great for a drink and snack, or more whilst mooching around la rambles. comfy beds to laze around on if you got the time. Good staff and menu a little pricey but worth visiting.

Ahhhmazing! Stunning views of Barcelona with excellent tapas, quick service, friendly staff and nice ambiance! Highly recommended if you're in Barcelona. Not very expensive tapas acc drinks arev reasonable. Might need to make reservations or go on a slow day like Monday or Tuesday.
